NOTES:

Age range definitions:
a. Child: Under 7 years old.
b. Youth: is aged 7-17 years
c. Adult: Aged 18 and over
d. Senior: Over 65 years
e. Age: For season pass purposes is taken as at 30th June, 2008

Student:

a. Full time Students enrolled at a New Zealand or Australian tertiary institution only on production of a valid identification card from the institute concerned. ISIC cards are not accepted.

Mid Week:

a. For skiers skiing mid week (Monday to Friday) outside School holiday period.

Children under 7:

a. Children ski with a complimentary ticket from the ticket office.
b. Children may have their own season pass on payment of a small fee of $15.00 to cover the cost of issuing it.

Half-day passes:

a. Half-day passes apply to those purchased after 12.30 each day, and
b. Where a full-day ticket is surrendered before 12.30, a refund will be made of the difference between a half-day and the full-day price.

Refund policy for season passes only:

a. A full refund of a season pass will be made if surrendered before 1 July, 2008, less a processing charge of $15.00.
b. If the field does not open during the season for lack of snow, the pass will be carried over to next season.
c. Half the value of the pass will be credited to a season pass for the following year if the field is open for less than 15 days.

5 - day “Anytime” passes:

a. This pass may be purchased in advance.
b. They are able to be used for the specified number of days at any time throughout the season.

Loss or theft:

a. Should your pass be lost or stolen, this fact must be reported immediately to the Rainbow Ski Area ticket office. Theft should also be reported to the police. A replacement pass will be issued as soon as it can be processed, for a fee of $15.00. There will be a delay of several days.
b. Until such time as the pass can be re-issued, you may purchase a lift pass for 50% of the rack rate for the class of pass that applies to you.

Forgotten pass:

a. If you forget your pass, you may purchase a day lift pass for 50% of the rack rate for the class of pass that applies to you, provided that you can supply acceptable identification.
b. This service will be offered once, only, in a season.
c. Should the pass in question appear on the day of it having been forgotten, and a day pass has been issued in it’s place, the season pass or multi-day pass will be revoked without compensation.

General conditions of use:

a. Carry your pass at all times on the field.
b. The pass is NOT TRANSFERABLE. Fraudulent use of your season pass will result in confiscation of the pass and the prosecution of all parties involved in the fraudulent use.
c. All pass holders at Rainbow must abide by the snow users responsibility code, and the instructions of safety personnel, as for all other users of the field. Misconduct will result in the cancellation or suspension of pass privileges. Misconduct includes unsocial behaviour, reckless or dangerous conduct, the supply of incorrect or misleading information relating to passes, and non-compliance with terms expressed or implied relating to the resort.
d. Patrons must comply with reasonable instructions issued by the staff who operate the field.
e. You may not use your pass for any commercial use.
f. Our objective is to make the use of the resort a pleasant and safe experience for all users.
g. Risk: The user assumes all risk of personal injury and property loss or damage. The purchaser of any ticket understands that skiing and snowboarding and other snow-sport is a hazardous sport and that many hazards and obstacles, marked and unmarked, natural and man-made, exist within the Rainbow ski area resort. The pass or ticket holder uses the area at his or her own risk.

Reciprocal rights:

a. Seasons pass holders will be entitled to discounts off the full day pass at the following Ski Fields: Mt Hutt, Remarkables, Coronet peak, and Cardrona.
b. Discounts applied $20 off Adult full day pass, $15 off Student day pass, $10 off Youth day pass.

Rainbow to Re-Open This Weekend!

Finally the cold weather has arrived and delivered the goods! With the new snowfalls over the last two weeks, and the dump received today, we are re-opening the field this Saturday 4th September. Rainbow To Go On Hold After This Weekend

We have had to make the difficult decision to suspend operations after this Sunday, due to continued unfavourable snow conditions, which have left the field running on a lower than usual snow base. A season of snow storms from the south-east and warm rainy conditions from the north have resulted in less than desirable snow coverage for skiing and riding at Rainbow, and consequently lower than normal visitor numbers. T-Bar Fully Open

The T-Bar is now open all of the way to the top of the mountain. Fresh snow fall over the last two days has added enough to our existing base to give great conditions from top to bottom. Easy Way is also now open providing beginner and intermediate access to the base from the T-Bar.
