"Welcome to the2009 Rainbow Development Programme. Hopefully you have had the chance to have some fantastic days of skiing already this season, and with the recent snowfalls setting up for some fantastic skiing conditions for the remaining of the season.

Once again we are running a nine week training programme throughout the season, with 3 hours of training scheduled every Sunday throughout the third term. I spent the Northern Hemisphere season once more, in Park City in the United States. Good snow conditions and great training opportunities, has enabled me to improve my skills further, which I will draw upon this season within the development programme. I was working with both in the childrens' ski school, and during the weekends coaching a junior racing group.

This season I would like to focus on general skiing development as well as race training, with the encouragement of participation in all local race events held. The training session will involve both training in gates, skill developments and conditions permitting, a little free skiing. This year’s event dates;
  • Citizen Watch Race – Saturday 15th August, contingency date 16th August
  • AMI Secondary School Race – Tuesday 18th August, contingency date Thursday 29th
  • Primary/ Intermediate School Race – Wednesday 23rd August, contingency date Thursday 24th August
  • Club Champs – Currently unsure of date. September
Once again, we have the support from Smith Optics and they are offering their range of goggles, helmets and sun glasses at a large reduction. The different products can be viewed at www.smithoptics.com. If you are interested in any items please let me know as soon as possible so we can put an order in. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask, I am looking forward to skiing with you all through the remainder of the season,

Thanks Adrienne (AJ)"
