St Arnaud Ski Race Foundation

Ski Racing at Rainbow

The St Arnaud Ski Race Foundation was formed 15 years ago, it is a not for profit incorporated society, and is responsible for organizing all the ski races at Rainbow throughout the winter season. The organization was founded to help promote and facilitate ski racing in the top of the south. The Foundation puts any surplus funds it has back into ski racing. It does this by supporting young racers, buying race equipment and keeping the cost of ski racing at Rainbow down to accessible levels, for all who wish to participate.

With a hard core committee of 8 and many extra helpers on race days, the Foundation organizes race registrations, (with help from Sport Tasman for the Intersecondary school event), and come race day with logistical help from the Rainbow staff set up the race hill, electronic timing for most races, and then when the race is over, results are calculated and a prize giving in front of the café completes the race day.

Race dates have already been set for 2011 and can be viewed on the "events" page on this website.
