Rainbow Blog

Good news is - it's snowing, bad news is it's going to keep snowing (and blowing) for a few more days. Since it started snowing on Thursday night Rainbow has received over 80cm of fresh snow, about three months late in coming but still gratefully received. The crew on the mountain report that this is the mother of all storms with the snow being accompanied by high  gusty winds. Tonight the freezing level is forecast to drop to 300M (that's near the bottom car-park).

At the moment this looks like continuing through to at least Tuesday or Wednesday, though the forecasts are constantly changing. Mountain staff are continuously assessing conditions and keeping the road clear ready for a break in the weather so that we can open the field - but please be patient as we cannot operate the lifts until the wind drops a bit.

Keep an eye on the snow report page - it is updated early each morning.

Hey Sarah, as soon as the wind drops! Wednesday is looking like a possibility at present, but we won't know until the morning. Check the snow report first thing ...
