EPIC!

That's the only word to describe Wednesday's skiing and riding under clear blue skies and after six days of non-stop snowfall. What a change to be driving up the access road with snow banked on both sides and on drooping trees from the bottom car park. The access road was clear and easy driving thanks to the round-the-clock efforts of the mountain crew during the storm - a big thanks guys!

While there were plenty of groomed runs to go round, most people seemed to head off-piste as skiers and boarders hit The Planets, Boulder Ride, East Face and Alan's Way; with the consensus being that the best conditions were The Planets & Boulder Ride.

Even telemarkers were lapping it up in The Planets :)

The "super storm" continues to pound the mountain again today with mountain staff reporting another 30cm today (Thursday) and a similar amount forecast for Friday. Saturday looks like it may calm down enough to open, and the forecast for next week is for calmer weather with a bluebird day on Monday - sunny and no wind.

Rainbow intends to stay open till the end of the school holidays (10th Oct), and with the snow we have on the field you should seriously be thinking about booking some accommodation in St Arnaud and come up for some of the best spring skiing you'll have ever experienced!

Will keep you posted ....
