Three weeks to go and counting ....
Just under three weeks to go until Rainbow opens for the 2010 season and the field is looking good! We had a steady snowfall over the last four days bringing another 20cm of fresh snow and giving good coverage over all of the main runs top to bottom. Off-piste still needs a bit more to be usable, but more snow is in the forecast over the weekend, and we hope to top up the natural snow with some man-made over the next few days while the temperatures are down.
Here are a few photos taken today by our Field Manager, Pete, to whet your appetite:

We hope to get the web-cams operating this weekend to give you a more up to the minute view of conditions - we are repositioning them to avoid the sun strike problems we had last year.
Preparations towards opening day on Saturday 3rd July are progressing well; the T-Bar electrification is complete, the new Kassbohrer PB 300 Polar groomer is on the field ready to go, the new staff accommodation block is nearly ready for staff to move into, and lift & facilities maintenance is nearing completion.
Opening day this year is the first day of the July School Holidays, and we will be open every day of the holidays (weather & conditions permitting), so it's a great opportunity to come up for a few days, rent some gear if you don't have any of your own (Rainbow has a full selection of modern ski and snowboard gear), and book a lesson or two with our one of our multinational instructors! We will also be running a special School Holiday Package for the July holidays - details to follow.
Till the next update,
Cheers
Peter
